We ‘♥’ Books, Pencil Cases, Tin Tin and Moustache-Throwing
Great fun at the Linenhall Theatre, Castlebar on World Book Day yesterday, during the ‘We ‘♥’ Books tour. To four schools (including the huggy-named Snugboro) Alan Nolan, Sarah Webb and I talked about the wonders of books, comics and stories. Sarah told us about her favourite books growing up, and the tragic tale of a sharp pencil and not-so-favourite friend. Alan wowed us with his brilliant drawing and comic mind. And as I got the 4th and 5th classes inventing stories, I managed to mishear about a potion to grow moustaches – though hey, why not throw them too?
A huge thank you to the children, their teachers, staff at the theatre and especially the AMAZING Tom Donegan who has been scooting round the country all week, arranging the shows, transport, accommodation, introducing all the authors and being smilily wondrous throughout.
