Happy 23rd April. This Tuesday marks St George’s Day, the 397th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare and Cervantes, and of course World Book Night. Thousands of volunteers all over Ireland, the USA and the UK, will be handing out free books to encourage reading.

Celbridge is going local too. Members of Cultivate Celbridge will be distributing copies of Bernhard Schlink’s The Reader around the town during the day. Author Shauna Gilligan and other Celbridge-based writers will also be reading from their work in Celbridge library from 7pm. Why not come along and celebrate local lit?
